Mr. William Edward Warix, 66, of the Walnut Log Community, died 9:05 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Parkway Regional Hospital in Fulton, Ky.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday at Walnut Log Baptist Church. Brother Gary Haynes will officiate.
Mr. Warix was born November 2, 1942, in the Walnut Log community, son of the late Horace William and Ruby Lee (Glidewell) Warix. He married the former Denise Ruyle on June 23, 1990. She survives. He retired as a driver for United Parcel Service, where he had been employed for 25 years. He was a member of Walnut Log Baptist Church, Tiptonville Masonic Lodge and Ducks Unlimited. He had served in the United States Army.
He is also survived by two daughters, Joanna Lough of Vinton, Iowa and Tonya Tinker of Cedar Hill, Missouri; two sons, Billy Warix and John Warix both of Wood River, Illinois; three sisters, Joann Druland, Helen Stone and Brenda Day all of Jerseyville, Illinois; two brothers, Don Warix of Eldred, Illinois and Ron Warix of Williams, Indiana; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carlene Hartman.
The family will receive friends at Walnut Log Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Monday.
