Mr. William Hulen Stegall Jr., 59, of Troy died 8:55 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Troy. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery. Brother Phil Glass and Brother Terry Council will officiate.

Mr. Stegall was born November 27, 1949, in Jackson, Tennessee, son of the late Virginia Lee (McHaffey) and William Hulen Stegall Sr. He married the former Patty "Pat" McBride September 11, 1969. She survives. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 37 1/2 years of service. Mr. Stegall was a charter member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and had been a Sunday School teacher. He had been an active participant with the Walk for Diabetes and Light The Way for A Cure also part of the Diabetes Association. He served in the United States Marine Corps.

Survivors also include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Felicia and Herman Gray of Troy and Tasha and Phil Glass of Medina; one granddaughter, McKaylee Rae Glass of Medina; three stepgrandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda and Joe Bell of Jackson and Judy and Ken Newcomb of Virginia; three brothers and sisters-in-law, O.V. and Louise Stegall and Willard and Brenda Stegall all of Jackson and J.W. and Rachella Stegall of Ridgely; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Sherry McBride of Dyersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and at Blessed Hope Baptist Church from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services on Tuesday.

Pallbearers to serve will be Ralph Norman, B.J. Phillips, Jerry Cole, Cody Thomason, Joey Cooper, Bobby Wyatt, Hayden Rogers and Danny Hayes.

Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Pete Tidwell, Steve Wills, Hollis Diviney, Joe David Whitson, Jay Spaulding, Ben John Graham, Phillip Senn, David Earl Lovell, Steve Tittle, Jimmy Stegall and Steve Swift.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Blessed Hope Baptist Church, P.O. Box 128, Troy, Tennessee 38260.
