William Russell "Buggs" Singleteary, Jr., 69, of Elbridge passed away 9:03 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

William was born June 21, 1955, in Miston, son of the late William Russell Singleteary, Sr. and the late Mary Lou (Hummer) Singleteary. He had been employed on a riverboat, cotton gin and as a steel worker. Buggs enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by three daughters, Holly Singleteary of Obion, Stacey Singleteary of Union City and Jessica Singleteary of Tiptonville; one son, William Russell Singleteary, III of Tiptonville; six grandchildren, Caitlin Lofton of Troy, Jordan Lofton of Union City, Bryce Ramsey of Obion, Cayden Singleteary of Tiptonville and Kayleigh Singleteary and Braylynn Singleteary both of Union City; eight sisters, Mary Millner and husband Neal of Friendship, Denise Osborne and husband Keith of Newbern, Delorse Pruitt of Finley, Deborah Singleteary of Newbern, Elizabeth Copeland of Dyersburg, Carolyn Branham and husband Junior of Gatesville, Texas, Kay Foster of Killeen, Texas and Charlotte Scott of Corinth, Mississippi; four brothers, Danny Brent Singleteary of Trimble, Tyrone Singleteary of Dyersburg, Steve Scott of Elbridge and Harry Scott of Ridgely; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Brayden Singleteary; two sisters, Paula Roberts and Jackie Singleteary; and one brother, Jimmy Dale Singleteary.
