Wayne Allen "Free Bird" Thompson, 77, of Crutchfield, Kentucky passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Cayce Methodist Church Cemetery in Cayce, Kentucky.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wayne was born June 1, 1948, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, son of the late Vivian Jane (Severn) Frahm. He had retired from Ford Motor Company in Chicago, Illinois after 33 years of service. After retirement Wayne was employed as a truck driver for Ford Construction Company in Union City. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by two sons, Richard Thompson and wife Valerie of Crutchfield, Kentucky and Bruce Thompson of Dresden; two daughters, Patti Brunson of The Colony, Texas and Tammie Selvey and husband Glen of Bradley, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
