Obituary

Mr. Wayne Jackson, 84, of Union City went home to be with the Lord Sunday morning, March 15, 2020, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Rev. Glenn Watts will officiate. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery near Covington.

Visitation will be held at Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Jackson, Hunter Jackson, Ethan Jackson, Evan Jackson, David Jackson and Joshua Schramm.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church , 631 East Church Street, Union City, Tennessee 38261.

Wayne was born December 9, 1935, in Tipton County, son of the late Tommy and Hazel (Glass) Jackson. He married Peggye (Dycus) Jackson December 31, 1955. She survives. Wayne served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division in Korea, Germany, Panama Canal and Alaska. He was a member of Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as a elder. Wayne was Boy Scout master of Union City Troop 55 at Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years. He had more than a dozen from this group who earned eagle rank. Wayne earned the order of arrow vigil honor the highest honor bestowed upon its members. He served as president of the Union City Jaycees 1966-67, was a member of the North South Skirmish and enjoyed scuba diving where he was PADI certified. Wayne retired in 2003 as co owner with Bo Faulkner of Office Services in Union City.

He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Hollye and Neal Schramm of Morristown, New Jersey; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Anthony and Shelly Jackson of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Jace Jackson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Kyle Jackson of Raleigh, North Carolina, Hunter Jackson of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Joshua Schramm of Albany, New York, Ian Schramm of Denver, Colorado, Evan Jackson and Ethan Jackson both of Murray, Kentucky and Sophie Schramm of Morristown, New Jersey; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Sue McLillie and Linda Morris both of Covington and Sandra and Roger Catteron of Munford; and one brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Jane Jackson of Henning.
