Wart Montgomery, 80, of Samburg passed away 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Serge Shoemaker will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ken Hogg, Caleb Joost, Jason Montgomery, Donnie Montgomery, Bryant Montgomery and Christian Cary.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Harris, Teddy Montgomery, Kenneth Orr, Gerald Craddock, Jackie Childress, Robert Earl Hoffman, Joe Davidson and Grant Reed.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Mr. Montgomery was born January 29, 1938, in Samburg, son on the late Amos and Beulah (Morris) Montgomery.  He married Betty Sue (Laster) Montgomery November 12, 1960.  She survives.  Wart was a foreman for Tennessee State Highway Department.

He is also survived by one daughter, Vonda and Kenneth Cary of Troy; two grandchildren, DeLaina and Caleb Joost of Imperial, Missouri and Christian Cary of Troy; one great grandchild, Logan Joost of Imperial, Missouri; four brothers, Dennis Montgomery and Velma of Troy, Wayne Montgomery of South Fulton, Hale C. Montgomery and Gloria of Union City and Eddie Montgomery of Union City; one sister, Charlotte Hogg of Samburg, and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Cletus Montgomery, Donnell Montgomery, Paul Montgomery and Duke Montgomery, and one sister, Ima Sue Montgomery.
