Mr. Gilbert Wallace "Wally" Covington, 69, of Union City died 9:40 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Larry Hitesman and Brother James Kinsey will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Monday.
Pallbearers will be Mike Richards, Rick Brown, David Owen Tomlinson, Bill Hatchett, Ronnie Robinson and James Petty.
Mr. Covington was born May 22, 1944, in Martin, son of the late Floyd and Geneva (Byars) Covington. He married Linda (Stover) Covington November 29, 1963. She survives. Wally was a retired employee of the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Union City and was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders.
He is also survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Lana (Covington) Long and Christy and Mike Posey all of Union City; three grandchildren and the spouse of one, Mallorie Smith of Clinton, Kentucky, Ryan Pruett of Union City and Alysha and Thomas Jackson of Clarksville; and four great grandchildren, Will Sanders and Kyleigh Sanders both of Clinton, Kentucky, Landon Pruett of South Fulton and Carter Jackson of Clarksville.
