Mrs. Virginia Stone Cranford, 97, of Tiptonville passed away 6:35 a.m. Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She was a former resident of the Shawtown community.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Chip Davis and Rev. Jimmy Calhoun will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be David Hugh Keefe, Ricky Stone, Andrew McIntosh, David Long, Reid Yates, Alex Kerby and Bobby Joe Matheny.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Cobbs Chapel Methodist Church or Cobbs Chapel Cemetery Association c/o Mamie Denton, 3623 West Main Street, Union City, Tennessee 38261.
Virginia was born October 7, 1920, in Rutherford, daughter of the late Ellis Lee and Ada (McIlwain) Jenkins. She married William "Dud" Stone May 19, 1938. He preceded her in death April 23, 2001. She then married Norval D. Cranford June 16, 2007. He preceded her in death January 2, 2013. Virginia retired as a loan officer with State Savings Bank in South Lyon, Michigan and was a member of Cobbs Chapel Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Keefe of Tiptonville; two sons, Billy Jeff Stone (Clora) of Eads and Rick Stone (Sheila) of Troy; one stepson, Barry Cranford of Union City; two sisters, Mary Nichols of the Shawtown community and Peggy Adams of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Angie Kerby of Eads, Kim Warren of Orlando, Florida, Ricky Stone of Edina Minnesota, Elizabeth Yates and David Hugh Keefe both of Tiptonville, Andrew McIntosh of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Sarah Long of Thompson Station; and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Katherine Hartnup and two brothers, Robert Jenkins and Harold Jenkins.
