Obituary

Mrs. Virgie Marie Davis, 92, of Hornbeak went home to be with the Lord 1:07 a.m. Tuesday,
December 10, 2019, at Union City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday at Samburg Assembly of God. Brother George Hutchison and Brother Rick Hargrove will officiate. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.

Visitation will be held at Samburg Assembly of God from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Robert Griffin, Lanny Haynes, Jimmy Rose, Harold Riddle, Teddy Montgomery and J.B. Murphy, Jr.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Davis was born July 26, 1927, in Obion County, daughter of the late Clarence and Dovie (Byrd) Kirby. She married Druey Earl Davis February 3, 1950. He preceded her in death October 17, 1987. Virgie was a homemaker and a faithful member of Samburg Assembly of God for 67 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Borders (Carl) of Union City and Vicky Hargrove (Rick) of Eldon, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Dr. Trent Borders (Kim) of Clarksville, Amy (Scott) Caudill of Union City, Raiann Reed of Dyersburg, Drue Barnes (Kristen) of Nashville, Dereck Barnes of Troy, Nikki Long (Tim) of Iberia, Missouri and Mikale Rudstrom (Roger) of Rochester, Minnesota; and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Marie Barnes; one son, Bobby Ray Davis; and one sister, Betty Sue Lee.
