Funeral services for Mrs. Neeley will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church in Union City. Brother Jerry Leggett and Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Second Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Friday.
Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Mike McAlister, Doug Sims, Scott Sims, Heath McNeely, Sean McAlister, Hayden Argo, Kurt Kleymeyer and Jeff Leyhue.
The family requests memorial contributions take the form of donations to Second Baptist Church Bus Fund , 831 N. Everett Blvd., Union City, Tennessee 38261.
Mrs. Neeley was born April 11, 1921, in Obion County, daughter of the late Cyrus Clayton and Virginia "Virgie" (Barnett) Ferrell. She married Finis Edward "Ed" Neeley on February 18, 1940. He died on July 5, 1980. Mrs. Neeley had been employed as the bookkeeper for the former Burnett Tractor Company in Fulton, Kentucky. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City where she was a greeter for many years and would visit nursing homes and the shut ins. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Robert McAlister of Dyersburg, Judy and Billy Sims of Sharon and Jean and Johnny Reeder of Collierville; her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Elizabeth Neeley of Tallahassee, Florida; her caretaker and special friend, Shayla Treadwell of Union City; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Mike McAlister and Gwyn McNeely both of Dyersburg, Doug and Kellie Sims, Stephenie and Jeff Leyhue and Scott and Lauren Sims all of Martin, Johnna and Kurt Kleymeyer of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, Jeanna and Hayden Argo of Collierville and Lauren Neeley of Tallahassee, Florida; fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Greg McAlister; her great great grandson, Noah Dylan McNeely; two sisters, Gladys Hassell and Eleanor Bizzell and five brothers, Oren Ferrell, Elvin Herrell, Marshall Ferrell, Homer Ferrell and Ralph Ferrell.
