Mrs. Vercie Lee Darnall Haltom, 92, of the Clayton community passed away 6:26 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2023, at AHC Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Chip Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Vercie Lee was born December 22, 1930, in Obion County, daughter of the late W.T. and Willie Louise (Nevil) Webb. She married Charlie Melton Darnall July 31, 1948. He preceded her in death March 21, 1968. She then married Richard Haltom January 17, 1975. He preceded her in death September 4, 1990. Vercie Lee was the owner and manager of Ridge Store in Hickman, Kentucky, #9 Lake Store and was manager of Lake Road Plaza Grocery Store. She loved to quilt, family get togethers and spending time with her boys, sister, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Vercie Lee raised her family in the former Midway Baptist Church and was a member of Lake Road Baptist Church. She always would say that God was in charge.
She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Dale Darnall and wife Linda of Wickliffe, Kentucy, Mark Wayne Darnall and wife Cindy of Troy and Phillip Darnall and wife Pam of Tennessee; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Darnall of Union City; one sister, Wilma Elizabeth Turner of Troy; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Terry Gene Darnall; two brothers, Lehman Thomas Webb and Billy Webb; and her brother-in-law, Tommy Turner.
