Mrs. Valrie Johnson, 89, of Union City passed away 3:14 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at The Waters of Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Shane Long will officiate.  Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Monday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Valrie was born April 3, 1936, in Union City, daughter of the late Cecil Chloye and Bessie (Smith) Owens.  She married Jimmie Lee "Pete" Johnson June 4, 1955.  He passed away February 21, 2002.  She retired from Brown Shoe Company and was a member of Healing Faith Family Worship Center in Union City.

She is survived by one son, Dale Johnson of Kenton; one daughter, Gail Johnson of Martin; three grandchildren, Jason Johnson (Courtney) of Martin, Melissa Moss (Braden) of Jackson and Jessica Johnson of Nashville; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; five brothers, David Owens of Union City; Tom Owens of Union City, Chuck Owens of Woodland Mills, George Owens (Molly) of O'Fallon, Missouri and Jim Owens (Sue) of Gadsden, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Brenda Owens of Union City; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Wayne Johnson; two grandchildren, Jimmy Lee Johnson and Jill Johnson; two sisters, Ann Cook and Nancy Davis; four brothers, Gene Owens, Cecil Owens, Dale Owens and Elbert Owens; and four sisters-in-law, Easter Owen, Linda Owens, Sharon Owens and Barbara Owens.
