Mr. Travis Prather Edwards, 74, of Ridgely died 6:55 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at his home.
Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
A memorial service will be held later this week.
Mr. Edwards was a charter member of the Lake County Rescue Squard where he served as the first captain of the squad. He had been a maintenance employee of the former Sylvania Company in Dyersburg and was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Lafferty) Edwards whom he married on December 31, 1964; his daughter, Michelle Rogers of Tiptonville; his son, Joseph Prather "J.P." Edwards of Jackson; his sister, Mable Lowe of Fulton, Kentucky; four grandsons, Cassidy Blake Rogers and Chase Rogers both of Ridgely and Nathaniel Edwards and Joska Edwards both of Jackson; and his nephew, Michael Lowe of Fulton, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aulsie Ervin Edwards and Ethel (Sanders) Edwards; his daughter, Cindy Edwards; and his brother, Thomas Edwards.
