Ted Adams 1917-2011
Mr. Ted Adams, 94, of Union City went home to be with the Lord at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Dr. Bobby Williams will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Noah Adams, Jodie Adams, Lane Grow, Kendall Rice, T.J. Kirby and Tom Moore.
He was born February 10, 1917, in Obion County, son of the late Benjamin Franklin and John Eller Myrtle (Smith) Adams. He married the former Betty Baker on May 3, 1952. She died November 1, 1987. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Star of Bethlehem Assembly of God Church and he had been a Sunday school teacher for many years. Mr. Adams loved the word of God and his desire would be to continue to spread God's word. The family requests that memorials be made to Gideons International . Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Bob Rives of Union City; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jody and Lynn Adams, David and Maureen Adams and Paul and Kathy Adams, all of Union City; his sister, Margaret Bizwell of Fulton, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Hagan.
