Norma Sue Shroads, 71, of Union City passed away peacefully 4:30 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019, at her home.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Brother Lloyd Wayne Moore will officiate.

Per her request there will be no visitation.

Pallbearers will be Gary Stowell, Joe Nelson, Mike Simpson, Ken Grant, Zach Cheney and Caleb Cheney.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sue was born March 10, 1948, in Duco, Kentucky, daughter of the late James and Lula (Fitch) Prater. She married Dan Shroads June 8, 1979. He survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Melissa (Gary) Stowell of Union City and Mary Ann (Gregory) Preuett of Richlands, North Carolina; two sons, David (Jimme Jo) Cheney and Todd Shroads all of Union City; eleven grandchildren, Joe Nelson, James (Kandace) Cheney, Amber (Devin) Strain, Zachary Cheney, Caleb Cheney and Randy Stowell all of Union City, Chad Stowell of Duncanville, Texas, Nicholas Shroads of Greeley, Colorado, Ashely Ma-e of Leilani, Hawaii and Kodie Preuett and Daniel Preuett both of Richlands, North Carolina; three great grandchildren, Jace Preuett of Richlands, North Carolina and Aurora Cheney and Greyson Strain both of Union City; one brother, Lacy Prater of West Liberty, Kentucky, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one great granddaughter, BrynLynn Sue Strain; eight sisters, Elizabeth Elliott, Corrine Dehaven, Linda Bailey, Nora Fullerton, Mollie Underhill, Julie Wright, Sally Collins and Dorothy Hill; and five brothers, James Prater, Charles Prater, Kernie Prater, Burl Prater and Bill Prater.
