Mrs. Sue (Blassingame) Scott, 72, of the Shawtown community died 6:26 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010, at the home of her sister, Annie Quinn, also of the Shawtown community.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Grimsley will officiate. Burial will follow in Star of Bethlehem Cemetery.

Mrs. Scott was born November 24, 1937, in Mississippi, daughter of the late Audie Riley and Eva Pauline (Peters) Blassingame. She married Gene Scott on March 24, 1958. He died June 5, 2003. She was a retired employee of the former Reelfoot Packing Company and a member of Star of Bethlehem Assembly of God.

She is also survived by two other sisters, Willie Horn of Pulaski and Joyce Cunningham of Hickman, Kentucky; her brother, Stanley Blassingame of the Shawtown community; and four nieces and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Blassingame.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Russell Blassingame, Jimmy Quinn, Monroe Quinn, Jeremy Quinn, Christopher Quinn, Jake Quinn and Stevie Cunningham.
