Obituary

Sue (Carter) Parnell, 66, of the Walnut Log community passed away 8:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019, at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Gary Haynes, Ken Hogg and Brother Charles Southerland will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Manuel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Monday.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ward, Randy Craddock, Billy Craddock, Tony Marvin, Joe Denton, Timmy Gantt, Clint Gantt, Tyler Richards and Ben Wilkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carter Drake Smith, Dale Clark, Chuck Chandler, Jared Warner, Bobby Armour and Brian Hayes.

Sue was born March 16, 1953, in Obion County, daughter of the late Charles Benjamin and Hazel (McQueen) Carter. She married Lewis Parnell October 14, 1977. He preceded her in death January 1, 2008. Sue had been employed at The Boutique and Warren's Jewelers both in Union City. She was a member of Walnut Log Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, J.J. Richards (Ricky) of the Walnut Log community; one god daughter, Chasity Warner (Jared) of Woodland Mills; one special niece, Samantha Smith of Woodland Mills; one stepdaughter, Lisa Cheranie of Louisiana; one stepson, Ricky Parnell of Fulton, Kentucky; one sister, Elizabeth Ann "Boo" Armour (Bobby) of Woodland Mills; two grandchildren, Tyler Richards of the Crystal community and Hanna Richards of Union City; three great grandchildren, Jon Tyler Richards and Bentlee Richards both of the Crystal community and Hadley Blaire Richards of Union City; her special friend, Charlotte Hogg of Samburg; several step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Brawner; her infant son, Jamie Brawner; her stepson, Randy Parnell; two sisters, Brenda Wilkins and Doris Carter; and three brothers, Ted Carter, Joe Carter and Jerry Carter.
