Dr. Steven Denver Crews, 54, of Union City passed away Thursday morning, May 4, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist Church in Union City.  Pastor Justin Hiens will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Second Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Keith Middlebrook, Dr. Leland Davis, Chris Cates, Bryan Wyrick, Billy Wayne Orr, Denver Crews, Alan Crews and James Moody.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Larry Buckles and employees of Reelfoot Animal Hospital.

The family requests memorials be made to Second Baptist Church Journey of Faith, 831 North Everett Blvd, Union City, Tennessee 38261.

Dr. Crews was born July 27, 1968, in Paris, son of the late Wendell and Pru (Menzies) Crews. He married Lisa (Heisler) Crews December 9, 1995. She survives. Steven was a 1986 graduate of Obion County Central High School, a 1990 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin and received his doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 1995. He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he had served as an usher and was a member of the Jerry Bailey Sunday School Class. Steven had served on mission trips with the church to Oklahoma, Florida and Alabama. Steven was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed traveling with his family.

He is also survived by two daughters, Leah Crews and Shelby Crews both of Union City; one sister, Kim Malone and her fiance' David Smith of Martin; one nephew, Dustin Malone of Martin; his sister-in-law, Amy Heisler of Sharon; and several cousins.
