Mr. Stephen Ray Ping, 56, of Troy passed away 4:25 a.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Phillip Pinion and Brother Truitt Cockrell will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rives.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Chance Bailey, Chris Bailey, Jesse Muse, Scott Muse, Thomas Muse, Geoffrey Ping, Dale Sims and Ricky Walker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Dowdy, Jake Dublin, John Dacus, Trent Ellegood, Stacey Gilbert, Lynn Gooch, Wayne Harris, Bryant Henderson, Justin Hughes, Chris Page, Chris Roberts, Jason Roberts, John Puckett, Kelly Russell, Johnny Tucker and members of the Pleasant Hill Young Adult Sunday School Class.
Mr. Ping was born January 2, 1962, in Union City, son of the late Homer Ping and XL (Forbus) Ping of Troy. He married Wendy (Bailey) Ping April 24, 2004. She survives. He worked for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Tennessee Tractor as an mechanic and also Progress Rail in Mayfield. Steve was a member of the Confederate Riders Motorcycle Club, was a United States Navy veteran, and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rives.
He is also survived by two sisters, Donna and Michael Williams of Jackson and Anita and Damon Allen of Sharon; one brother, Benny and Teresa Ping of Danville, Virginia; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Patsy Bailey of Troy; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chris and Kim Bailey of Troy; three nieces, Robin Allen, Macey Cox and Megan Bailey and three nephews, Geoffrey Ping, Chance Bailey and Colton Bailey.
