Sofie Ivey's Obituary
Sofie K. Ivey passed away 4:07 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at her home in South Fulton.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Troy Deweese will officiate. Burial will follow in North Mt. Zion Cemetery near Mayfield, Kentucky.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Shelby Wayne Ivey, Jr., Keith Roberson, Steve Johnson, Anthony Vaughn, Tim Quinton and Tony Westbrooks.
Sofie was born January 1, 1939, in West Germany, daughter of the late Franz and Rozine Kronenwetter and was the youngest of seven siblings. She had been in the United States for over 50 years. Sofie was the widow of Shelby Wayne Ivey, Sr. who preceded her in death June 12, 2015. She was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Blandville, Kentucky.
She was the beloved mother of three children, Charlotte Lynn (Steve) Jonhson, Shelby Wayne Ivey, Jr. and Ottis Lee Ivey. Sofie was the grandmother of Christina Lynn Bannister, Joshua Lee Ivey and Cody Wayne Johnson. She was the step grandmother of DeAnna Johnson. Sofie was the great grandmother of Arielle Everett and Cedrick Everett and step great grandmother of Hannah Alianell. She loved her caring sitter, Kathy Davis Burns.
