May 7, 1930 – August 21, 2019
Sister Rose Murray Huey, 89, of Hornbeak went home to be with Lord Wednesday morning, August 21, 2019, at The Waters of Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Ruth Green and Brother Dale Batchelor will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be David Steve Huey, Bill Mitchell, Dennis Mitchell, Scott Grimes, Billy Wayne Long and Kyle Simmons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Harris and Sister Rose's nephews.
Sister Rose was born May 7, 1930, in Troy, daughter of the late Terrence Stanfield and Lula (Murray) Huey. She had been employed at the former Salant & Salant in Troy and Obion. She served as pastor of Proctor City Church of God from 1959-1969, Graves Chapel Church of God from 1972-1974, Hornbeak Pentecostal Church 1974-2003 and Samburg Pentecostal Church from 2003-2014. Sister Rose had volunteered at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Home in Tiptonville and Golden Living Center and Union City Manor Nursing Home where she was honored for 30 years of service.
She is survived by one sister, Ray Nelle McMillon of Obion; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lovelle Long, Maxine Mitchell and Omelia Huey; and two brothers, David B. Huey and Bill Huey.
