Mr. Silas Stephens, Jr., 81, of Union City died 11:20 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Leggett will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Adam Molands, Sonny McGuire, Gage Guiles, Travis Lewis, Eddie Emery and Randy Emery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Stephens, Gene Stephens, David Higgins, Dale Higgins, Glynn Higgins, Mark Higgins, Andrew Molands, Jack Molands and Kenneth Wayne Ross.

Mr. Stephens was born January 31, 1931, in Hickman, Kentucky, son of the late Silas Stephens, Sr. and the late Thelma (Williams) Stephens. He married Shirley (Harrison) Stephens October 16, 1954. She survives. He was the retired owner and operator of the former Stephens Used Cars in Union City and was of the Baptist faith.

He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Rena and Rubin Molands and Gabrilla and Traivs Lewis all of Union City; five grandsons, Adam Molands, Jack Molands, Andrew Molands, Gage Guiles and Colton Lewis all of Union City; his sister, Shirley Higgins of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Emery and Louise Smith; and three brothers, Bobby Gene Stephens, Billy Charles Stephens and Jimmy Dale Stephens.
