Mrs. Shirley Jene Hamm, age 81, of Hornbeak, Tennessee passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 27, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Mallonee and Brother Russell Zik officiating. The burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Hornbeak.

Friends are invited to pay their respects at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home during a visitation on Thursday, June 27, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Woody, Scott Webb, Jamin Barker, Greg Whitmore, Todd Jernigan, Tim Hamm, and Chad Priest.

Shirley was born on September 18, 1942, in Hornbeak, daughter of the late Joe Frank and Grace Helen (Alexander) Jerden. She is survived by her caring husband of over 60 years, Les Hamm. They were married on September 9th of 1960. Les and Shirley were dedicated members of Second Baptist Church in Union City. She worked for the former Reelfoot Bank of Obion County. She loved to quilt and to be able to share the beauty of her work with her family.

She is also survived by one son, Mike Hamm (Amanda) of Springville; one daughter, Debbie Smith (Richard) of Martin; three grandchildren, Ashlynn Hamm of Martin, Thomas Elam (Bri) of Union City, and Eternity Alexander of Puryear; siblings, all of Hornbeak, Tennessee, sister Linda Jernigan; brother, Joe Jerden; brother, David Jerden; and sister, Beverly Coston; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Jerden; and three sisters, Marguerite Wilson, Marscella Erwin and Opal Kirby.
