Obituary

Shirley (Prather) Crews, 86, of Union City passed away 9:14 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at The Waters of Union City.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday at East View Cemetery. Pastor Russell Zik and Pastor Justin Hiens will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Jake Weatherly, John Weatherly, Josh Williams, Kent Hendon, Kevin Hendon, Alan Prather and Carl Wayne Hammond.

Honorary pallbearers will be Red Reese, Charles Miller and Jim Prather.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Second Baptist Church, 831 N. Everett Boulevard, Union City, Tennessee 38261.

Shirley was born January 29, 1938, in Obion County, daughter of the late John M. and Kate (Glover) Prather. She married R.C. Crews September 21, 1955. He preceded her in death January 2, 2022. Shirley had been employed at the former Reelfoot Packing Company and was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Weatherly of Union City; her son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Tiffiny Crews of Union City; three grandchildren, Jake Weatherly (Molly) of Halls, John Weatherly (Morgan Atkins) of Munford and Katy Crews Williams (Josh) of Newbern; two great grandchildren, J.R. Weatherly and Madalynn Weatherly both of Halls; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rabon Weatherly; and three sisters, Mary Lyle Blanton, Dorothy Yvonne Woods and Ethel Green.
