Mrs. Sherley Mai (Hardee) Jones, 81, of Humboldt passed away 8:50 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2026, at NHC of Milan.

A private celebration of life will be held March 8, 2026.

Sherley was born February 24, 1944, in Denmark, Tennessee, daughter of the late William Parris and Mary Rebecca (Julian) Hardee Walters. She married John William Jones September 23, 1960. He preceded her in death October 6, 2017. Sherley worked as a rental property manager for over 30 years and also served as a loving mother and dedicated housewife. She will be remembered as a mother to those she was not obligated to nurture, an exceptional baker, and a devoted NFL fan—especially of Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning.

She is survived by Matthew Jones of Humboldt, Allen Jones (Lori Beth) of Union City, Julian Jones Coleman (Aubrey) of Trenton, Colton Jones (Hannah) of Newbern, and Hannah Carter (fiancé Joseph Yeager) of Humboldt; two great-grandchildren, Easton Carter of Humboldt and Cooper Jones of Newbern; three brothers, Charles Hardee of Virginia, Ray Hardee of Whiteville and David Hardee of Pinson; several nieces and nephews, including her goddaughter Terrie Hardee; and her best friend on the entire planet, her puppy, Nina.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Louise Jones; one sister, Anna Huckaba; and two brothers, William Archie Hardee and Phillip Hardee.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations to be made to New Life Union Mission of Dyersburg .
