Sarah R. Rice, 89, of Union City passed away 1:43 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Memorial graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at East View Cemetery.  Everyone is invited to gather with family and friends.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Obion County Senior Citizens Center, 622 S. Depot Street, Union City, Tn. 38261.

Sarah was born June 3, 1934, in Union City, daughter of the late J.D. Russell and the late Lota (Craig) Bynum. She married Neal Rice August 20, 1953. He preceded her in death October 30, 2020. Sarah retired in 1996 from the Union City Electric Company as a customer service representative. She was active member of the Obion County Senior Citizens Center, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a lifetime auxiliary member of Jones Walker Post 4862. Sarah attended Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Rice Wimberly and husband Jerry of Ft. Myers, Florida and Sandra Rice Powell of Martin; one sister, LaVina Reed of San Francisco, California; three grandchildren, Sandy Mehlhorn and husband Joey of Martin, Jill Powell Howard and husband Brian of Union City and Bobby Webb and wife Mary of Martin; and two great grandchildren, Robert Mehlhorn and wife Kaleigh of Knoxville and Elizabeth Mehlhorn of Martin.
