Ruth Lewis, 99, of Union City passed away Monday morning, May 5, 2025, at her home.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Rev. Phillip Pinion will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Jake Wheeles, Ryan McBride, Jeff Maxey, Ronnie Brown, Jr., Mitchell Maynard and James Lee.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth was born March 29, 1926, in Obion County, daughter of the late Willis Moody and Mable Luzie (Melvin) Maynard. She married John Lewis February 21, 1944. He preceded her in death May 27, 2002. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Union City Baptist Temple.

She is survived by one sister, Donna Craft and husband Milton of Memphis; and her nieces and nephews, Missy Wheeles of Union City, Pat Rowland of Troy, Michigan, Ronnie Brown of Buchanan, Debbie Merritt of Jackson, Edie Reddish of Chattanooga, Marva McMillian of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Larry Maynard of New Mexico, Michelle Maxey of Millington, Maxine Lewis of South Fulton, Donna Jenkins of Union City, Loretta Campbell of Sarasota, Florida and Carl Lewis of Sterling Heights, Michigan.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Speed and Frances Harber; and three brothers, Charles Maynard, Billy Maynard and Marvin Maynard.
