Mr. Russell David Dawson, 65, of Union City passed away 8:49 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Richard Dawson and Jeff Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Russell was born June 5, 1961, in Dyersburg, son of the late Russell Dawson, Jr. and Shirley (Simpson) Dawson of Troy. He was a member of First Baptist Church–Troy. He worked in the logging business for many years. Russell had a big heart and would help anyone in need.

He is also survived by one sister, Bridgette Page of Union City; two brothers, Jerry (Candi) Dawson and Chris (Rhonda) Dawson all of Troy; three nephews, Troy Kinninmonth, Chad Dawson and Josh Dawson; one great niece, Camdyn Dawson; and one great nephew, Colton Kinninmonth.

He was also preceded in death by his nephew, John Eric Dawson.
