Rudy O'Neal Tate, 70, of Troy passed away 8:30 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Chip Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Stanley's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Davey Edmaiston, Dallas Edmaiston, Andrew Gibson, Weston Hunt, Cody Donaldson and Barrett Betts.
Rudy was born November 24, 1947, in Obion County, son of the late John and Mary (Tabor) Tate. He married Barbara (Nichols) Tate December 30, 1967. She survives. Rudy had been employed as a truck driver for Duncan Tankage and Griffin Industries. He was last employed as a limousine drive for Parks Limousine Service. Rudy was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He is also survived by one daughter, Hollye (Jeff) Edmaiston of Troy; two grandsons, Davey (Rachel) Edmaiston of Carthage and Dallas Edmaiston of Troy; one great grandson, Coy Edmaiston of Troy; three sisters, Maggie Lee Stout and Joyce Carter both of Greenfield and Rita (Don) Choate of Waverly; and three brothers, Johnny Tate, Pete Tate and Steve (Debbie) Tate all of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Tate.
