Obituary

Mr. Roy Junior Pruitt, 57, of Halls, formerly of Union City, died 5:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Cornerstone Healthcare of McKenzie.

Funeral services for Mr. Pruitt will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope Bible Church near Union City, with burial following in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely.

The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Jones, Jeremy Truett, Joe Harris, Kenny Harris, Shane Walker, Jamie Walker Jr. and Jamie Walker Sr.

Mr. Pruitt was born Aug. 26, 1956, in Obion County, son of the late Joy Love and Mary Alice (Faulkner) Pruitt. He was a member of Edith Mathis Church in Ripley and was a mechanic and farmer.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Travis and Amy (Hepler) Pruitt and Benjamin Adam and Letecia (Lanear) Pruitt, all of Union City; his daughter, Mandy Gail Hart of Sharon; five grandchildren, Christopher Lane Pruitt, Matthew Aidan Pruitt and Sean Ryan Pruitt, all of Union City, and Brooklyn Avery Hart and Joshua Landon Hart, both of Sharon; four brothers, Danny Pruitt and Larry Pruitt, both of Halls, and Donald Pruitt and Tommy Pruitt, both of Union City; and four sisters, Wanda Jones of Ripley, Shirley Harris and Judy Walker, both of Dyersburg, and Francis Wagner of Memphis.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joy Dale Pruitt; and his sister, Tina Byrd.
