Obituary

Mr. Ronald Taylor "Ronnie" Yates, 71, of Union City passed away 2:16 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Church in Union City. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery near Kenton.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2250 E. Reelfoot Avenue, Union City, Tn. 38261.

Ronnie was born April 4, 1947, in Obion County, son of the late B.T. and Mary Lou (Carter) Yates. He married Sandra (Williamson) Yates February 11, 1967. She survives. Ronnie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City where he served as a deacon, was in the church choir, was a member of the Baptist Men's Group, served on the security team and the audio visual and sound team. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 and retired from the former Lennox Hearth Products in Union City after 21 years of service.

He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Pete Brooks of Union City; one son, Jason Yates of Union City;  four grandchildren, Isaac Cochrum, Rachel Cochrum, Rylee Yates and Jonas Yates all of Union City; two step grandchildren, Elizabeth Trigge (Ray) of Gibraltar, Michigan and A.J. Brooks (Ella) of Gleason; and three step great grandchildren, Vicky Trigge and Octavian Trigge both of Gibraltar, Michigan and Kairi Brooks of Gleason.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Yates Edwards; and his daughter-in-law, Betsy Gail Bonds Yates.
