Robert James Miedl, 68, of Union City passed away 9:47 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

There will be no services. Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Robert was born November 14, 1951, in Gary, Indiana, son of the late Otto and Muriel (Shumaker) Miedl.Robert had served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and had also served in the United States Army. He had been employed at Tyson Foods in Union City.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara (Hebert) Miedl of Union City; two daughters, Tammy Miedl of Union City and Roberta Miedl of Big Bear, California; three sons, Thomas Miedl and Lymann Miedl all of Union City and Robert Miedl, Jr. of California; two stepdaughters, Cindy McCown of Burnet Texas and Janet Kamradt of Llano, Texas; three sisters, Cathy Dilling and Sara Ceiga (David) both of Union City and Becky Evans of Fulton, Kentucky; one brother, Bruce Miedl of Union City; fourteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Miedl; one half brother, Clinton Miedl; and one sister, Glenda Miedl.
