Mr. Robert L. Goodman, 97, of Union City passed away 3:53 a.m. Sunday, June 21, 2026, at AHC Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will be in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Robert was born June 17, 1929, in Obion County, son of the late Samuel Daniel and Lois May (Simmons) Goodman. He married Florence “Marie” (Smith) Goodman May 10, 1952. She survives. He worked for the former Reelfoot Packing Company for 40 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Robert was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and member of the J.T. Jones Sunday School Class.

He is also survived by one daughter, Karen (Dale) Norton of Union City; three grandchildren, Heather Kits, Eric Hayes and Tiffany Mitchell; eleven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Beckel of Homer Louisiana and Bonnie (Don) Seymour of Jacksonville, Alabama.

He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Robbie Hudson and Cathy Wyrick; one grandson, Keith Hudson; one sister, JoAnn Carr; and three brothers, Willard Goodman, Willie B. Goodman and Frank Goodman.
