Mr. Robert J. "Bob" Keathley, 77, of Union City died 12:06 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013, in the emergency room at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church in Union City. Dr. Jerrell White, Rev. Jerry Leggett and Rev. Jon Cawley will officiate.

Burial will be in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Mr. Keathley's businesses and members of the Trail Blazers Sunday School Class at Second Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at Second Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Keathley was born June 16, 1936, in Kenton, son of the late Auburn Elihue and Ollie Mae (Perryman) Keathley. He married Betty Jean (Norman) Keathley June 30, 1957. She survives. Bob founded Green Acres Mobile Homes in October 1960. Green Acres grew to 13 locations in 3 different states. In June 1972 he opened 5 Seasons Men's Shop in Union City. He also owned the Hospitality House in Union City. Mr. Keathley owned Mas Verde retirement communities in Lake Worth, Florida, Lakeland, Florida and Pinellas Park, Florida. He served on the board of directors of Reelfoot Bank and the board of directors of Reelfoot Bancshares until his retirement. Bob was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and was a former song leader.

He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bridgette (Keathley) and David Darnall of Union City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Janet Keathley and Bryan and Angela Keathley all of Union City. He was affectionately known as "Grand Bobby" to his eight grandchildren and the spouse of one, Jeremy and Kayla Keathley, Justin Keathley, Katie Keathley, Matthew Keathley, Alex Darnall, Keathley Darnall and Gracie Darnall all of Union City and Andrew Keathley of Memphis; his sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine (Keathley) and Bill Campbell of Ballwin, Missouri; his sister-in-law, Nelda Jewell of Rutherford; his brother-in-law, Terry Norman of Rutherford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold L. Keathley.
