Robert Harrison Burns, Jr., age 82, of Fulton, Kentucky passed away 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Bobby Jacobs will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Burns, Bobby Burns, Michael Burns, Brandyn Burns, Frank Hawks and Kelly Hendon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kip Gilliland, Bubba Harrison, John Owen Fleming and H.E. Garrigan.
Robert was born July 3, 1943, in Obion County, son of the late Robert Harrison and Christine (Maddox) Luker Burns. He married Kay (Ferguson) Burns February 24, 1962. Robert was a 1962 graduate of Obion County Central High School. He had been employed at the former Lear-Siegler until it closed and was a farmer and owned at trucking company. Robert was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and had lived in this area all his life.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kay Burns of Fulton, Kentucky; his daughter and son-in-law, Jenny Lee Burns Gilliand and Kip of Union City; his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Alan Burns and Brandy of Fulton, Kentucky; his sister, Faye Isbell of Union City; his brother, George Burns of Union City; six grandchildren, Abbie Gilliand Hawks and husband Frank, Heather Gilliand Hendon and husband Kelly, Joseph Alan Burns, Jr. and wife Jenna, Robert William Burns and wife Erika, Michael Burns and Brandyn Burns; six great grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews; and was loved by all.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert H. Burns, III; and one brother, James Luker.
