Richard "Ricky" Earl Davis, 72, of Union City passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Matt Hoffman and Kevin Rice will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Davis, Jr., Wade Maddox, Daniel Hayes, Justin Foulks, James Anderson and Skyler Rushin.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Ricky was born September 9, 1953, in Union City, son of the late James A. Davis, Jr. and the late Fannie Lou (Walker) Davis. He married Cathy (Cox) Davis October 24, 1985. Ricky retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 36 1/2 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family fishing, woodworking, and was a Tennessee Volunteer fan.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cathy Davis of Union City; three daughters, Dana Davis and husband Anthony, Heather Hayes and husband Daniel and Lindsay Maddox and husband Wade all of Union City; eight grandchildren, Alex Davis, Aubrey Dysart, Kristian Foulks and husband Justin, Kyndall Davis, Skyler Rushin, Jadyn Rushin, Brooklyn Maddox and Emmy Maddox all of Union City; eight great grandchildren; one sister, LuAnn Wilson (Joe Thompson) of Union City; and his mother-in-law, Minnie Cox of the Harris Station community.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa Ann Davis; one brother, Harold Ray Davis, one sister, Peggy Lou Davis; his brother-in-law, Alan Wilson; his father-in-law, Jim Cox; and his grandparents, Sam and Nellie Davis and Thomas and Lily (Hall) Walker.
