Mr. Richard Leroy Gordon, 82, of Rives died 12:48 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2014, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother James Kinsey will officiate. Burial will follow in Stanley's Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Moore, Jr., Jerry Moore, III, Charles Moore, Kevin Bullion, Bill Hatchett and Bobby Lafever.

Mr. Gordon was born January 2, 1932, in Williams County, Ohio, son of the late Pierre Marvin and Mildred Frances (Turner) Gordon. He married Dorothy (Glover) Gordon September 8, 1959. She died July 27, 2010. Mr. Gordon had been employed at the former Brown Shoe Company and at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City in housekeeping. He was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church and had served in the United States Army and United States Air Force from 1954 to 1974.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Moore, Sr. and Delores Moore of Rives; four grandchildren, Jerry Moore, Jr. of Clinton, Kentucky, Charles Moore of Rives, Larry Gene Mills of Pensacola, Florida and Regina McCaully of Beaumont, Texas; one sister, Ann Galligher of San Antonio, Texas; eight great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
