Mr. Richard Byron Elam, 62, of Dyersburg passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020, at his home. He was a former resident of Union City.

There will be no services. Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Richard was born May 14, 1957, Union City, son of the late Marvin Gary and Dolly (Terrett) Elam. He had been employed at the former Reelfoot Packing Company and the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.

He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Jones of Cayce, Kentucky and Charlotte Atwill of Fulton, Kentucky; one brother and sister-in-law, Bart and Vickie Elam of Leland, North Carolina; one stepson and his wife, Josh and Pat Kilpatrick of Dyersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Judy (Kilpatrick) Elam; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Elam; one stepson, Jeremy Kilpatrick; and one brother, Charles Elam.
