Richard Cartwright's Obituary
Mr. Richard Lloyd Cartwright, 83, of the Dixie Community passed away 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Charles Southerland will officiate. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery near Union City .
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Richard was born July 21, 1934, in Hickman, Kentucky, son of the late Dan and Sophia Jewel (Simmons) Cartwright. He married Beverly (Beard) Cartwright September 8, 2013. She survives. He was an agent/supervisor in the insurance business for 50 years before he retired at the age of 80. He was a Navy Korean War veteran and member of the Walnut Log Baptist Church.
He is also survived by two sons, Darrell and Susan Cartwright of Hoover, Alabama and Raymond Cartwright of West Monroe, Louisiana; three step daughters, Debbie and Mike Couey of Battle Creek, Michigan, Dianna and Tony Clark of Union City and Pam Glander of Union City; three grandsons, Casey Cartwright of West Monroe, Louisiana and Colin Cartwright and Andrew Cartwright both of Hoover, Alabama; three granddaughters, Sarah Cartwright, Rachael Cartwright and Caitlin Cartwright all of Hoover, Alabama; ten step grandchildren and sixteen step great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his late wife, Mary Jane Cartwright, one brother, Dan Cartwright, Jr. and one sister, Joyce Selene Cartwright.
