Rex Lee Shepherd, 74, of Union City passed away 4:01 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Regional One Health in Memphis.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Tommy Hall will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.

Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, Indiana. Brother Bob Long will officiate.

Mr. Shepherd was born September 25, 1941, in Lafayette, Indiana, son of the late Paul Lee and Edna Violet (Stuckey) Shepherd. He married Donna (Hutsell) Shepherd April 3, 1976. She survives. Rex attended Purdue University and was a United States Army Vietnam War veteran. He had been employed as a research assistant with Pioneeer Hi-Bred International and retired as a lab technician with Griffin Industries.

He is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Capt. Tom and Dr. Christina Ganem Shepherd of Fort Polk, Louisiana; and two granddaughters, Lily Mackenzie Shepherd and Mia Madison Shepherd both of Fort Polk, Louisiana.
