Mrs. Rebecca Nichols Halford, 87, of Union City died 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jim Glover will officiate. Entombment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Karl Johnson, Ted Perry, Bobby Joe Hill, Steve Rice, Derek Raines and Chris Brady.
Mrs. Halford was born April 23, 1926, in Gibson County, daughter of the late Ernest Nichols and Florence (Barnett) Eddlemon. She married Raymond Halford, Sr. October 8, 1947. He died September 25, 1998. She had been employed as a sales clerk at the former Williams Fabrics in Union City and was a member of Crosswind Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Anita Halford of Union City; two grandchildren and their spouses, Alan and Kellie Halford serving with the United States Air Force in Niceville, Florida and Keri and Dr. Todd Chappell of Memphis; and three great grandchildren, Jacob Halford, Kayleigh Halford and Alyssa Halford all of Niceville, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Edmaiston.
