Claudie Ray "Hots" Duren, 77, of Troy passed away 1:18 a.m. Thursday at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Private graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2021, at Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ray was born October 18, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Hazel Duren. He married Joyce Ann (Roberson) Duren January 7, 1966. She preceded him in death February 3, 2013. Ray had been employed by the Town of Troy, served on the Troy Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was a United States Army veteran.

He is survived by two sisters, Linda Kay Vanderhayden of Centerville, Iowa and Janice Marie Kern of Crystal Lake, Illinois.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Gene Duren.
