Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Jeff Bell and Kevin Thomason will officiate. Burial will follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery .
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Ray Covey, Matt Covey, Mark McBride, Gary McBride, Donnie Hutchison, Ronnie Hutchison and Bobby Hutchison.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Wells, J.C. Thomas, J.R. Smith, Jimmy Smith, Roy Wiley and Tommy Reedy.
Mr. Covey was born April 8, 1927, in Obion County, son of the late Everett May and Hite (Huffstutter) Covey. He married Peggy (McBride) Covey on September 21, 1952. She survives. He was a retired mechanic for the fomer T & S Ford in Obion and the former Blackley Chevrolet in Hornbeak. He was a member of Bishop Street Church of Christ.
He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Debbie Covey of St. Joseph, Tennessee; two grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Jodi Covey of Central, Alabama and Melinda and Richie Burlison of Loretto, Tennessee; three great granddaughters, Elizabeth Covey of Central, Alabama and Georgia Burlison and Charlotte Burlison both of Loretto, Tennessee; his brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Ruth Covey of Longview, Texas; his aunt, Hannah Smith of Hornbeak; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
