Porter Logan Glidewell, III, 40, of Union City passed away Monday, December 31, 2024.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Porter was born January 13, 1984 in Union City. He was a graduate of Obion County Central High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. Porter served in the United States Navy for four years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City. He had been employed as a river boat deck hand.

He is survived by his mother, Lana (Edwards) Wilmath of Union City; his father, Logan Glidewell of Union City; one son, Cooper Logan Glidewell of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one brother, Hec Rice of Union City; his aunts and uncles, Beth Glidewell Mofield of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, Lynda and John Draus of Hickman, Kentucky, Jo Ella and Doonie Wilburn of Louisville, Kentucky and Dale Edwards of Hickman, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, R.A. and Margaret Edwards and Porter Glidewell, Sr. and Vivian Pearl (Toombs) Glidewell.
