Peggy Joyce (Hime) Taylor, 76, of Union City passed away 9:49 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2018, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Justin Hiens will officiate. Burial will follow in Stanley Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Faye Wyrick, Ivon King and members of the Rives High School Class of 1959.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Bag Lady group or any mission group c/o Second Baptist Church, 831 N. Everett Blvd., Union City, Tennessee 38261.
Peggy was born October 15, 1941, in Lobelville, Tennessee, daughter of the late Briley Alfred and Della Maude (Cordray) Hime. She married Jimmie W. "Jim" Taylor June 14, 1959. He survives. Peggy was a 1959 graduate of the former Rives High School. She was a founding member of Sunswept Baptist Church in Union City. Peggy had been employed in the cafeteria at the former Rives Elementary and Ridgemont Elementary retiring after 21 years of service. She had also been a member of the Bag Lady group at Second Baptist Church in Union City.
She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Daniel Lyon of Union City; two sons, Jimmie Dee Taylor and Ray Taylor both of Union City; one grandson, Shayne Lyon of Union City; one sister, Virginia Hopper of Memphis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Alford Hime and James Hime; and two sisters, Christine Denson and Betty Milner.
