October 14, 1938 – December 13, 2020
Peggy S. "Rose" James, 82, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 10:40 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Brian Kissell, John Mancell, Dennis Kizer, Carl Kizer, Richard Hanks and Kenneth Brooks.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faith Sunday school class at Calvary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Forget Me Not Foundation , 3744 Cleek Echo Drive, Union City, Tennessee or Calvary Baptist Church , 2250 East Reelfoot Avenue, Union City, Tennessee 38261.
Peggy was born October 14, 1938, in Clifton, Tennessee, daughter of the late Thurman and Margaret (Martin) Adams. She married the love of her life Bobby James October 3, 1959. He survives. Peggy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City for 57 years where she served many years as a children's Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher. She had served on the church's decorating committee and the building committee. Peggy loved her family dearly and they were her world. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker to her family.
She is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tena and Buddy Thompson of Union City; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Joni James of Union City; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and David Graves of Kenton; three granddaughters and the spouses of two, Brittany and Brian Kissell and Meredith and John Mancell all of Troy and Olivia James of Murfreesboro; and five great grandchildren, Sam Kissell, Miley Kate Mancell, Luke Mancell, Drew Kissell and Miles Kissell all of Troy.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Billy Adams.
