Obituary

Peggy Lou Cook, 82, of Union City passed away 7:25 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Tommy Hall will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jason Norton, Chad Norton, Chase Norton, Brian Johnson, Phillip Pinion, Steve Pinion, James Pinion and Dave Davis.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Peggy was born October 13, 1938, in Obion County, daughter of the late Burney and Lottie (Ragsdale) Pinion. She married Johnnie Cook May 12, 1956. He survives. Peggy retired as manager of the former Wonder Bread Thrift Store in Union City and had been a member of First Assembly of God in Union City for 64 years.

She is also survived by one daughter, Sherry Norton of Union City; one son, Jon Kerry Cook (Debbie MacClary) of Gallatin; four grandchildren, Amy Johnson (Brian) and Jason Norton (Andrea) all of Union City, Chad Norton (Amanda) of Hornbeak and Abby MacClary of Hendersonville; five great grandchildren, Brianna Johnson, Adison Norton and Adley Beth Norton all of Union City and Chase Norton and Cloe Norton both of Hornbeak; and her special childhood friend, Mamie Little of Troy.

She was also preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Katelyn Grace Johnson; four sisters, Mary Evelyn Pinion, Margaret Louise Pinion, Ella Mae Fulcher and Norma Jean Davis; and three brothers, Vernell Pinion, David Gene Pinion and James Lawson Pinion.
