Mrs. Peggie Juanita Long Burrell, 93, of Union City passed away 11:58 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Ron Costello will officiate. Burial will follow in Beech Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Sean McCant, Carl Hoard, Chris Long, Hunter Long, Cameron Long and Matt Payne.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.

Peggie was born July 17, 1931, in Martin, daughter of the late Harry Ancil Chapin and Lidie (Dowland) Gleason.  She married Herchel Long March 6, 1948. He passed away August 21, 2006.  She then married John Burrell September 11, 2009.  He passed away July 25, 2013.  She was a member of Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church and attended Harris Station Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Yvonne McCant of Union City; one son, Thomas Long of Martin; three grandchildren, Dennis McCant (Chanda) of New Albany, Mississippi, Donnie McCant of Union City and Chris Long of Union City; and seven great grandchildren, Sean McCant, Paige McCant, Carl Hoard, Hunter Long, Cameron Long, Bayleigh Long and Abigail Winebarger.

She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, David McCant and Bobby Joe Long; one son-in-law, Hershel McCant; and one daughter-in-law, Wilma Long.
