Mrs. Paula (Seals) Parker, 55, of Hornbeak died 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at her home after a long battle with cancer with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Pat Murdock will officiate.  Burial will follow in Mt. Manuel Cemetery near Walnut Log.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be James Coffey, Cliff Berry, Jackie Childress, Bob Reavis, Brad Denton, Jamie Roach and Larry Venable.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Jerden, Doris Cochran, Judy Quick, Mark Cooley, Debra Choate and members of the Hornbeak Board of Aldermen.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Mt. Manuel Cemetery Association, c/o Maxine Cash, 1512 Troy Hickman Road, Union City, Tennessee 38261.

Paula was born November 29, 1955, in Tiptonville, daughter of Lessie (Glidewell) Seals of the Shawtown community and the late Paul Richmond Seals. She was a retired rural mail carrier for the Hornbeak Post Office, was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association and was a member and named Outstanding Member for the Tennessee Rural Letter Carriers Association in 2010. Paula was dedicated to her community. She was a current member of the Hornbeak Board of Aldermen and was the current vice mayor for the town of Hornbeak and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church near Hornbeak.

She is also survived by her husband Robin Parker whom she married on June 9, 1974; two daughters and a son-in-law, Amy Parker Horner and John Horner of Union City and Hollie Parker of Hornbeak; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Lori Seals of the Clayton community and Jimmy and Barbara Seals of the Shawtown community; and several nieces and nephews.
