Mr. Paul Richmond Seals, 83, of the Shawtown community died 5:15 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Danny O'Guin will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Manuel Cemetery .
Mr. Seals was born September 13, 1927, in Dyer County, son of the late Clint and Lula (Box) Seals. He was a graduate of the former Hornbeak High School, was a retired farmer, and a member of Walnut Log Baptist Church. Mr. Seals had been the manager and a player for the former Hickman Hardware independent baseball team.
He is survived by his wife, Lessie (Glidewell) Seals, whom he married on August 17, 1950; his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Robin Parker of Hornbeak; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Barbara Seals of the Shawtown community and Ricky and Lori Seals of the Clayton community; his brother, Bobby Seals of Arlington; his sister, Helen Kennon of Samburg; seven grandchildren, J.R. Seals, Jana Deem, Amy Horner and Courtney Seals all of Union City, Jeremy Seals and Hollie Parker both of Hornbeak and Jentrie Coffey of Hickman, Kentucky; and eight great grandchildren, Seth Callens and Landon Callens both of Union City, Jackson Seals, Katie Seals, Paul Hayden Seals and Olivia Seals all of Hornbeak and Briley Coffey and Avery Coffey both of Hickman, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Eloise Cash; and his brother, Narvel Seals.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Roach, Jesse Stover, J.A. Ransom, Donald Ray Ransom, Jackie Childress and David McBride.
